Import Approval
All vehicles including boat trailers imported into Australia need an import approval issued by DOTARS :

Any vehicle manufactured before the 1st of January 1989 can not be refused an import approval. If your vehicle fits withing these guidelines it can be shipped to Australia. An import approval takes about 17 days to process, so be sure and get your import application in as quickly as possible. If you do not have your import approval when the container arrives, it will cost you $250 AUD per day on storage of the container, as customs will not allow it to move off the dock.
If you use me, or anyone else, do not fill out the agent part on the import approval application. If DOTARS have questions, they will try and contact me , and this slows the process down.
